Newsletter 2019-’20
This academic year we have an enrollment of 128 students with 10 of our students appearing for the 10th Board exams in April 2020. This is the 10th year we are conducting board exams at our school.
Sponsorships:
This year 63 children in our school have been sponsored by family & friends and clubs. This includes 22 children who are sponsored by the Lions Club Mumbai Beach Haven. This academic year, Mr Madhav Rao & Ms Vijaya Rao sponsored our teachers salary for six months.
We have also received sponsorships for supplying hygienically prepared, healthy nutritious Saturday lunches for our students from various well wishers. One of our Alumini – Ritu Gagad has been helping spread the word about our school and attract donors and funds for the school events. A big Thank You to all our sponsors!
July / August 2019
For the Independence day celebrations the children participated in flag hoisting, patriotic songs, and speeches. Snacks and supplies were given to the children.We also took the children on an field trip to see the movie ‘Lion king’ and an inspirational Hindi movie called ‘Super 30’.
November / December 2019
In November, the students were taken on a field trip to LD Water Park in Virar. We received a concessional rate that included the rides, snacks breakfast for all. This was sponsored by one of our teachers Ms Anandi and also the Jeevanpushp trust funds. For our annual Christmas celebration we had a visitor from USA, Mr Jagadish Handa, an octogenarian dressed up as Santa Claus to surprise the students with gifts. Thanks to Lions Club Mumbai Beach Haven supplied gifts for the children, Ms Vidisha, who supplied snacks and Ms Anju, who helped with Xmas tree decorations.
Our Computer section was completely updated with new and improved software and hardware last summer. We also received a Desktop Computer donation from Vidya Belkhale with funds she raised from selling her art work.
We continue to cover the fees for further studies and job search for our students. Many of our students have been placed in banking / insurance and call center jobs.
